Baseball cap packshots

Professional product photography of all kinds of hats and headwear is an extremely rewarding subject. It is relatively easy to standardize the entire production process for huge batches of goods.

The product photographer also wears hats...

Popular autumn-winter hats such as beanies, sloshy, rounds, pointes require a special form to stretch the fabric in order to stretch the weaves and show the pattern. In the case of spring-summer hats, you need not only a form - and preferably transparent (especially important in the case of hats with a mesh at the back) - but also a small frame when the cap has a protective tarpaulin around the neck. And when it comes to hats: just the head of a mannequin is enough, or sometimes a plain white flat acrylic.

What to look for when taking a packshot photo of hats?

Whether in Warsaw, Krakow, Katowice or Berlin, a product photographer will always encounter the same problem: the inconsistency of hats even between copies in the same model.

Winter hats must always be evenly stretched, the fabric evenly distributed over the mold, materials and seams always fall out in the same place.

In summer hats, you need to pay attention to the design of the visor, the method of adjustment, buckles, hooks and strings, and in all types of hats – branding and tags.

When taking photos of hats, always remember about:

  • canopy structure,
  • the method of regulation,
  • buckles and tapes,
  • materials and seams,
  • branding and tags.

Product photos important for e-commerce

Large online stores, especially international chain stores, must have standardized product photos, especially of winter or summer hats. Once you enter the site, you will immediately notice the potential inconsistency in taking photos even for a simple layman. At every stage, it must be professional product photography. If someone literally "kicks" the photos at the beginning, the store will incur double the cost due to the need for another session. The price of product photography should not be the main guideline when choosing a photographer. It is often better to pay a large amount right away than to make trouble for yourself later. You need to prevent the loss of time and money.

Cooperation with a product photographer

The production collaboration of the product session took place in a fully remote model, which provided the customer with maximum convenience and limited their involvement to the necessary minimum. The process began with the delivery of the products by courier, after which – after unpacking and preparing them – we made test shots for approval. After the style was approved by the client, we carried out a session of the entire collection, and we handed over the finished packshots in the agreed formats and color profiles. The whole thing was finalized by careful packaging and sending back of the goods, which made the implementation quick and perfectly suited to e-commerce standards.
