Children's Fashion Product Photography
Spring is slowly knocking on the door of our studio. Snow is still outside the window, and we are already photographing children's clothes from the spring/summer 2026 collection. What is important in photographing children's clothing? And how to get the "wow" effect? You will find out in this article.
Children's fashion packshots – energy, joy and the promise of comfort
When photographing adult clothing, we focus on elegance and style. In the case of children's clothes, we put emphasis on showing a holiday of colours, joy, energy and ease. This time we photographed the latest collection of an extremely talented Polish designer. Her clothes are characterized by original design, original cut and timeless elegance. Working with such projects, we had no major problems to achieve the intended effect.
So how do you make a piece of fabric on a white background cause a "wow" effect in a parent? Here is our methodology for working on submitted products.

Ghost Photos - 3D Effect
Children's clothes can be photographed flat (flat lay) or on a ghost mannequin. Children's clothes have the characteristic that when placed flat, they can lose their charm – they become wide and shapeless. Our "superhero" here is a ghost mannequin.
What do we gain? A dress with a world map motif takes on a waist, and the sleeves gently "swell" as if they were filled with a child's hands. The frills float as if in a dance, and the clothes look alive.
Precision: With this technique, we show not only the front, but also the depth of the neckline and the structure of the inside of the material. We show the lightness of the fabric and its natural way of arranging.
The right mannequin is the key to success: Matching the size of the garment to the mannequin is very important – the better it is chosen, the more attractive and realistic the garment looks. Our studio has several sizes of mannequins – from baby to children's. Thanks to this, we can photograph both baby and children's clothing.
Tulle and frills under control
The designs presented in the gallery are rich in details – from multi-layered frills in a fruit dress to delicate blue tulle.
Challenge: The tulle in the photo can become "flat" or too transparent.
Solution: We use soft bottom lighting, which "illuminates" the layers from the bottom, giving them fluffiness and lightness – visible in the photo of the yellow dress.
Color and detail in the foreground
The presented collection is an explosion of colors: from juicy yellow, through intense turquoise, to subtle pastels.
Gold standard: To ensure that the turquoise on the dress with the map does not run away towards the green, and the purple flowers do not lose their saturation, we calibrate each lighting set to a specific color group. During the session, we use stencils. Thanks to this, we can be sure that the shade of "peony" on the screen will be identical to the one that the customer will take out of the package. This minimizes the number of returns and builds a professional brand image.
Zoom to detail: Glitter butterfly applications require a harder spot light to "reflect" the glare to the lens and communicate the premium quality of the product.
"Look & feel" of the store
Remember that the consistency of the store proves professionalism and a serious approach to sales and the customer. Notice how identical trousers and dresses from the same line look – the colors and proportions are preserved.
In all the photos in this commission, we used a perfectly white background. The photos are taken in accordance with the requirements of e-commerce platforms (Allegro, Amazon):
– framing and centering in relation to the vertical axis,
– aesthetic layout in the store grid,
– consistent presentation of products.
Children's clothing photography is a balancing act between technical rigor and conveying the lightness of the child's world. Each photo from this session is a small story about the quality that the parent can almost "feel" with their eyes.
A good photo means fewer questions:
How does this dress look like?
Is this pink neon?
A professional packshot increases sales and reduces returns.
